Quick Cap: Spurs finish road trip with loss to Suns

PRESCOTT VALLEY – A strong start and a double digit lead by the Austin Spurs quickly evaporated at the hands of the Northern Arizona Suns, as they defeated the silver and black by a final score of 117-105.

With the loss, the Spurs have yet to win consecutive games since the first week of February. The loss also drops them into second place in the Western Conference a half game behind the South Bay Lakers.

TURNING POINT

The tide turned early in this one for Austin.

With just over four minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Spurs held a 16 point lead over the Suns. Then the attacking duo of Goodwin and Hollis-Jefferson decimated Austin’s defense, eventually giving the Suns a 55-48 lead at halftime.

The Austin Spurs would never lead or get close to leading again.
