PRESCOTT VALLEY – A strong start and a double digit lead by the Austin Spurs quickly evaporated at the hands of the Northern Arizona Suns, as they defeated the silver and black by a final score of 117-105.
With the loss, the Spurs have yet to win consecutive games since the first week of February. The loss also drops them into second place in the Western Conference a half game behind the South Bay Lakers.
The tide turned early in this one for Austin.
With just over four minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Spurs held a 16 point lead over the Suns. Then the attacking duo of Goodwin and Hollis-Jefferson decimated Austin’s defense, eventually giving the Suns a 55-48 lead at halftime.
The Austin Spurs would never lead or get close to leading again.
