Quick Cap: Blossomgame and Hilliard lead Spurs in blowout of Blue

AUSTIN – About 70 miles to the south, the San Antonio Spurs were in a tight contest with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Up north, their G League counterparts were playing in something wildly less competitive as the Austin Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Blue, 107-87.

Leading the way for Austin was the dynamic duo of Jaron Blossomgame and Darrun Hilliard.

Blossomgame finished with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Hilliard nearly logged a triple-double with 21 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. Olivier Hanlan also had a great game with 15 points and four assists.

For Oklahoma City it would be Rashawn Thomas leading the way with 16 points off the bench. Daniel Hamilton had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Bryce Alford finished with 14 points.

A strong first quarter by Austin gave them an 8-point lead early.

Blossomgame would score 14 points in the second quarter to keep the Spurs with a 6-point halftime advantage.

Coming out to start the second half, Austin held Oklahoma City to just 38 percent shooting in the third quarter, eventually pushing their lead to as much as 25 points before winning by 20.
