Wisconsin has won its last four games with its last loss coming again Rutgers a few weeks back. The Badgers have taken advantage of some of its rivals unexpectedly winning some games and some of the better teams dropping some games. Now they will have to fend off a hot-shooting Purdue and then handle a lowly Nebraska squad to finish with a regular-season conference title.

Purdue vs. Wisconsin Basketball Game Betting Preview

Purdue is one of the best shooting teams in the country, hitting almost 40% of its triples and shooting 50.3% from the floor overall. They get a lot of great looks because they run a smooth offense that averages about 17 assists a game, which is good for the ninth in the country. Wisconsin will likely have a tough time stopping it but did find a way last time so there is a blueprint.

The Badgers love to play ugly games and in rock fights. That’s how they beat Purdue the first time and will surely try to do it again. They’ll do it by forcing Purdue into foul trouble and getting to the free-throw line themselves, to the tune of 19 times a game. Wisconsin has also been great about not turning the ball over as it averages less than nine a game, which will come in handy if they have a rough shooting night.

Defensively for Purdue, they will need to end those possessions well and not give up second-chance opportunities. What they do exceptionally well is limit the other teams’ defensive rebounds because they are a decent offensive rebounding team, but also because they hit so many shots. Offensively, the Boilermakers will need to take care of the ball better than their usual 11.7 per game might suggest.
