Thompson’s signing comes in the wake of the DeMarcus Cousins trade that has left the guard position a little thin for the Pelicans.
In his 31 games with the Philadelphia 76ers this year, Thompson averaged 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 36.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Thompson made his debut last night for the Pelicans, in their 129-99 blowout loss to the Houston Rockets.
In his five minutes of action, he went 1-for-3 from the field, 0-for-1 on 3-pointers and 1-for-2 from the free throw line to finish with three points.
