I always find it interesting to see how NBA players train. From watching Matt Bonner and Tiago Splitter throwing medicine balls against a wall during training camp last season to players leaping up several feet from a seated position, lifting tires across a field and grabbing handfuls of rice, I’ve seen some interesting training techniques.
San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills trained with the Advanced Sports Training Institute in his offseason recently. Mills trainers have him running with a bungee cord attached to his waist, doing 360 degree spins on marked spots on the floor and much more, which you can watch below.
I doubt the ASTI is working with him now but I’m sure the Spurs trainers have him and the rest of the team working hard to stay ready during their rest before their second round series begins either Sunday or next Tuesday.
