Parker selected as All-Star reserve

Although the NBA will not officially name the 2009 All-Star reserves for another 15 minutes, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that among others, Tony Parker has been selected as an all-star reserve for the third time in his career and will be joining Tim Duncan in Phoenix next month.

Parker will join Shaquille O’Neal, Pau Gasol, David West, Dirk Nowitzki, Chauncey Billups and Brandon Roy on the West reserves, while Jameer Nelson, Rashard Lewis, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson, Chris Bosh, Devin Harris and Danny Granger round out the Eastern conference squad.
Parker, who beat out Steve Nash among others for the reserve spot, is averaging 20.4 points and 6.6 assists per game for the Spurs this season. Nash will get a chance to take out his frustrations and prove he was snubbed when he faces Parker and the Spurs tonight in Phoenix in a nationally-televised game.
