Over his last three exhibition games with France, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker had totaled just 11 points and roughly 31-minutes in the
three outings. Parker was being eased back into form after not playing basketball from the time period of his infamous eye injury, until the day the Spurs gave him clearance to continue playing with France, so long as he wore protective goggles.
Well Parker looked like he was back to his old form on Friday after France defeated Belarus 84-64 to end a two game losing skid that they suffered against Spain and Belgium.
Parker led the French in scoring by posting a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists, all while shooting 6-of-12 from the field and logging his most minutes in exhibition play, 34.
Boris Diaw and Nicolas Batum once again sat out due to insurance issues, but Diaw and Parker’s newly signed teammate Nando De Colo, helped Parker carry the scoring load with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
France will have a rematch with Spain on Sunday as both teams continue to prepare for the 2012 London Games in less than two weeks.
