Tony Parker, Tim DuncanTony Parker had a really nice week last week and this one is off to a good start as well.  The San Antonio Spurs’ should be All-Star point guard was named Western Conference Player of the Week.  Paul Pierce was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Parker averaged 22 points, eight assists and 1.5 steals last week as the Spurs went 4-0.  Parker’s week was highlighted by his 42 point, nine assist game against the Thunder Saturday night.  Parker also passed Avery Johnson to become the Spurs’ all time assist leader.

The award and Parker’s overall play lately can only bolster his All-Star bid and more importantly the Spurs’ play.  The Spurs begin their Rodeo Road Trip tonight against Memphis, who they beat to start last week’s unblemished record.  Here’s the question, Spurs fans.  All-Star reserves get announced this Thursday.  Does Tony Parker’s player of the week award make him a lock for an All-Star reserve spot?
