Parker leads France to victory, Richards gets little playing time

TPAfter sitting out Thursday in a victory over China, San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker returned back to action for the French national team on Saturday as he helped them defeat Croatia 83 to 60 in day four of the London International Basketball Invitational.

Chicago’s Loul Deng made his first appearance for Great Britain as he helped them secure a 64 to 56 win over China. Spurs draftee Ryan Richards didn’t play much in the game.

Parker led France in scoring once again with 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 23 minutes of action. Chicago’s Joakim Noah was the second leading scorer for the French with 11 points, nine rebounds, and one steal. Spurs draftee Nando De Colo was the third leading scorer for the French as he filled up the stat sheet with 10 points,five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 27 minutes of play.

In making his first appearance of the year for Great Britain, Deng had 15 points and five rebounds. Richards’ most minutes in a game were 12, they dipped significantly as he was only given two minutes on the floor.

France will conclude with the London Invitational tomorrow as they face Serbia, Richards will also have his final game in the tournament as Great Britain faces Spurs assistant coach Brett Brown and Australia.
