The last time San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker was on a basketball court in game action, it was May 3, 2017. That day, with 8:43 left in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of a playoff matchup with the Houston Rockets, Parker sustained a left quadriceps tendon injury that required surgery.

After months of rehabilitation and recovery, Parker is ready to return to NBA action, as he announced Sunday on Facebook, he’s expecting to play in Monday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Spurs won’t officially confirm Parker will play just yet, as they’re listing him as questionable.

Parker initially said back in August that he had been cleared to play by the medical staff, but, he and the Spurs did not want him to rush back onto the court. Parker aimed for a late November return and it appears he’s met his timetable.

Without Parker and Kawhi Leonard for 19 games this season, the Spurs have managed to go 12-7 and hold the third best record in the Western Conference.

Parker will be returning for his 17th season where he has career averages of 16.2 points and 5.8 assists per game. It’s unknown just yet how the Spurs will ease his minutes back in and whether or not he’ll start or come off the bench.
