Rumors of Austin Spurs forward Livio Jean-Charles leaving the G League to play overseas have become reality.

Baloncesto Malaga, otherwise known as Unicaja CB for sponsorship purposes, announced the signing of the 24-year-old forward on Sunday night.

According to the club release, Jean-Charles has signed a contract for two months with the club having the option to extend his contract to the end of the season, if necessary.

Selected in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs, Jean-Charles joined the G League after seeing his guaranteed contract waived last year.

Jean-Charles eventually left Austin prior to the end of the season to join his former club ASVEL of the French league, before returning to Austin this year.

With the influx of talent this season, Jean-Charles has been reduced to a bench role but still showcased a solid amount of talent.

In 45 games this season, Jean-Charles averaged 11.3 points per game to go along with 5.7 rebounds. Defensively, he’s not the rim protector he was last season, but Jean-Charles did improve his offense a tad by averaging 56 percent shooting from the field.

Jean-Charles will replace center Giorgi Shermadini who suffered an injury recently and will wear jersey number 35.
