After another season ending earlier than they’d like, and with a starting front line that featured a 6-8

forward starting at center, could the San Antonio Spurs be looking to shore up their frontcourt yet again.

The Spurs had former Norfolk State center Kyle O’Quinn in for a workout late last month.

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound center and former Norfolk State star has similar trips lined up with the Brooklyn (formerly New Jersey) Nets next Saturday, the San Antonio Spurs on May 22, the Golden State Warriors on May 23and the Oklahoma City Thunder on May 27. Then O’Quinn will attend the NBA combine on June 6in Chicago. The draft is scheduled for June 28. O’Quinn’s resume has seemingly thickened each month this spring. In early March, he was named Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. He followed that by leading Norfolk State to its first MEAC tournament title and was named Most Valuable Player.

O’Quinn averaged 15.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game in his senior season.

The Spurs could look to target the 6-10 big man for their 59th selection in the NBA draft later this month. The Spurs have also been looking at several high-profile players available in the draft next month, but they would have to move up into the first round in order to have a chance at those players.
