Neal, Obama take in Towson basketball game

GNWhat are the odds of seeing a basketball game with not only a famous Hollywood actor in attendance but the President of the United States as well. For San Antonio Spurs’ Gary Neal, that opportunity presented itself according to reistertown.patch.com.

What the fans got in Towson University’s men’s basketball home opener against Oregon Stateincluded many big names, including President Barack Obama and family, actor Bill Murray, Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, former Congressman Tom McMillen and San Antonio Spurs star (and former Tiger) Gary Neal.

Now that’s not just your ordinary small college attendance party, those are some major headliners. According to the article, the Obama family waspresent at the game to support the First Lady, Michelle Obama’s brother whom is the present coach of Oregon State. Murray was at the game to support his son who is a new assistant coach with Townson University.

Neal won’t be able to catch anymore games with the President or actors as he must now prepare for an NBA season with as much adversity or more. Neal will be expected to begin learning the backup point guard position in a shortened season as the team traded guard George Hill on draft night back in June.

Neal must also stay consistent as he is working to earn a new multi-year contract with the Spurs. Neal was an unknown when last season began, now the spotlight will be shown directly on him from December to June.

But at least now he has a story to tell his teammates once training camps starts up.
