NBA Looking to Change NBA Finals Format

0

According to reports, the NBA Finals will return to the original format (2-2-1-1-1) and abandon the current format (2-3-2) pending NBA owner approval.

This decision could have come one year too late for the San Antonio Spurs and just opens up a gaping wound that just now is beginning to heal.

With the Spurs and Heat taking turns winning games, the new format would have given the Spurs a chance to possibly clinch the series on their home court during Game 6.

With the shooting clinic put on by Danny Green and Gary Neal in Game 3 and 5 at home, would have been interesting to see how they could have turned the table during a close out game at home.

Also would the Heat bench have came up big like they did when the series went back to South Beach for the final two games?

With the Spurs and the Heat making this a NBA Finals for the ages seems a bit anti-climatic to have one team get the final two games at home rather than seeing a hard fought best of three series.

Now Spurs fans, how much better do you think the Finals would have been with the new proposed format?
