NBA Draft: Spurs select Livio Jean-Charles

0

The first pick is in and the San Antonio Spurs have drafted Livio Jean-Charles.  As we told you a few days ago, Jean-Charles plays for Asvel, the French team Tony Parker owns a part of.  He's a 6'9" combo forward who is hyper athletic and hustles non-stop.

Jean-Charles was taken over proven college guys like San Diego State's Jamaal Franklin, California's Allen Crabbe and Kansas' Jeff Withey.  He played reserve minutes for Asvel this season and you almost certainly will not see him next season and possibly the season after that, but there's potential there.

He was the MVP of the Nike Hoops Summit this Spring, scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds on some of the best incoming American college freshman.

It's also important to note that since Parker is part owner of Asvel, negotiating a buy out for him in a year or two shouldn't be incredibly difficult.  Check out highlights of Jean-Charles here.

Spurs have one more selection, pick number 58.
