Nando De Colo to play with Spurs Summer League Team

In an interview with French site Lavoix Du Nord, San Antonio Spurs' Nando De Colo will be heading to Las Vegas and play for the Spurs Summer League team.

I am here (France) for a few days but the Summer League begins next week. I will leave to San Antonio for a few days before playing matches in Las Vegas ( first meeting on July 12 against Charlotte). It's an important thing for me to reinforce the coaches the idea that they can do to me, how they can use me. And the French team is in a corner of my head. It will also prepare me for Eurobasket.

Though the Spurs have not released the official team roster, De Colo will be joining Ryan Richards, Marcus Denmon, Durand Scott and possibly Spurs' recent draft pick Deshaun Thomas.

De Colo, who saw his playing time dwindle as last season progressed, was vocal about his diminished play during the season. Though he did follow up his frustrations and said as long as the team was winning, he was fine with the limited time on the court.

Nando averaged 3.8 points, 1.9 assists, shot 43% from the field, 37% from the three-point line, and 79% from the free throw line in 12.8 minutes in 72 games in the regular season. In the playoffs, he only saw action in five games.

For Nando and the Spurs, this is exactly what he needs. Nando will be able to continue to learn the Spurs' system, stay in shape in the offseason and see some sort of playing time considering he barely got any in the postseason.

And though it will be against Summer League competition, I am sure Nando will take any sort of playing time to show the Spurs he deserves more time on the court in his sophomore season.
