CEDAR PARK – A late morning tipoff had no ill-effects on the Austin Spurs offense as the silver and black defeated the Reno Bighorns, 115-92.

Point guard Dejounte Murray, on assignment from San Antonio, led the way for the Spurs with 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Jarell Eddie dropped 19 points and five rebounds in his first start of the season. Cheick Diallo, on assignment from the New Orleans Pelicans, had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Cory Jefferson chipped in a 20 points for the Spurs off the bench. And Patricio Garino would be the fifth Spur to score in double figures with 12 points.

For the Bighorns, Malachi Richardson, on assignment from the Sacramento Kings, led the team with 19 points. His two teammates also on assignment, Georgios Pappagiannis and Skal Labissiere, each had eight points. Former Atlanta Hawks and Austin Spurs forward Lamar Patterson contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Spurs started out hot from the field, shooting 58 percent in the first quarter to take an early 30-20 lead over Reno.

Austin would stretch their lead to 12 before halftime, thanks in part to Murray, who had a staggering 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists before the break.

Eddie would score eight points in the third quarter to help Austin extend their lead even further, going into the final quarter with an 84-66 lead.

Contributions from Diallo, Garino, Jefferson and Demetri McCamey made sure the game was never in doubt, as the Spurs completed the blowout to notch their first win of the season.

The Reno Bighorns (0-2) will stay in Austin looking for revenge as both teams will face off again this Thursday night from the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. CST, with the game being broadcast on Facebook Live.

Note: Dejounte Murray was recalled by the San Antonio Spurs immediately following the game. You can catch Murray and the San Antonio Spurs take on the Sacramento Kings tomorrow night.
