Milutoniv Signs Contract Extension with Olympiacos

According to Eurohoops.net, Olympiacos Piraeus has signed 22-year old Serbian center Nikola Milutinov to a contract extension that will have him playing in Greece until 2020. However, there’s still a chance Milutinov could end up in a Spurs jersey before 2020.

According to the article, there are NBA-out clauses in both the summer of 2018 and 2019 should the Spurs want to bring Milutinov to the NBA at an earlier date. The Spurs originally drafted Milutinov back in the 2015 draft with the 26th pick in the first round. He’s spent the last two seasons playing with Olympiacos where he averaged 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 31 games last season.

Until Milutinov signs with the Spurs or they renounce his draft rights, each summer the Spurs will have a $1,465,920 cap hold for Milutinov on their salary until the NBA is notified if he’ll be coming to the NBA or staying overseas for the next season.

Olympiacos’ season officially kicks off October 12 when they face Saski Baskonia.
