San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills and the Australian National team kicked off the 2013 FIBA Oceania Championships with a 70-59 victory over New Zealand Wednesday in Auckland.

Mills led the Boomers with a team high 20 points, while he also added 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 assist in his 30:37 minutes of play. Mills couldn't find a consistent rhythm shooting the basketball though as he shot 8-of-18 from the field and 2-of-9 from three point range in the win.

David Andersen added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the win, while Matthew Dellavedova, who played with the Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League team and has been invited to training camp with the Cavs scored 11 points. Joe Ingles scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to cap some notable Aussies from the 2012 London run.

Spurs center Aron Baynes, who is injured with a hamstring issue, did not play in the match and will not play in the next game but did take to Twitter to congratulate his teammates on the victory.
