Yahoo! is reporting that the Spurs are the leaders of a three team race to sign free agent Antonio McDyess, the Spurs plan B after his former teammate Rasheed Wallace. The Spurs are rumored to have offered the full MLE for two years and are competing against the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers. While McDyess doesn’t have the three point range that Wallace does, McDyess is a better rebounder and interior presence. Even at 34 he produced his best Total Rebounding Rate and shot over 50%.
