The matchup of the game between the Toronto Raptors visiting the San Antonio Spurs in their last meeting of the season will be between Toronto's DeMar DeRozan and San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard.
The last time these two teams met up, the game ended in an exciting double overtime decision in Toronto.
The Spurs were without their starting small forward and top defender Kawhi Leonard and it showed with DeRozan, leading scorer for the Raptors with 18.1ppg, dissecting the Spurs' defense with 29 points and 7 rebounds.
With S.A. head coach Gregg Popovich known to mix and match positions in ways that give the Spurs an advantage, it would be hard to imagine he doesn't put his best defender on the opposing team's best and leading scorer.
DeRozan shot 39% overall from the field, but still had an advantage over Danny Green who guarded him in Leonard's absence.
Kawhi's wingspan, foot speed, and strength should cause plenty of problems for Toronto's leading man, especially with Leonard who's averaging 3.5 steals in 23 minutes in his two games returning from injury.
