The matchup of tonight's game will be between Tony Parker and Damian Lillard when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Portland Trailblzazers.
Parker is coming off a heartbreaking loss against the Utah Jazz last night while Lillard is hoping to be healthy after tweaking his right ankle on Monday night. Lillard is averaging 18.4ppg and shooting 42% from the field while Parker is averaging 19ppg and shooting 51% from the field. This duel will likely determine the game's outcome since both starting point guard positions are important to each team. Lillard has been the spark plug to the Blazers team while Parker has been the go to guy for the Spurs and looks to score in bunches early in the game.
Parker has to wear Lillard out on offense, even though it may be an extra difficult task since the Spurs played last night. If Parker is moving around and getting picks set for him, he'll either open up the paint for himself or he'll create shots for his teammates with the defenses collapsing. If Parker can't contribute a great game on offense, that'll leave his opposing point guard resting on defense while looking to attack Tony on each possession which might force Spurs coach Gregg Popovich into playing the slower Gary Neal on him.
