LSU vs. Arkansas Basketball Game Betting Preview

The Tigers are one of the best defensive teams in the country with the No. 4  adjusted defense according to Kenpom and limits teams to about 62 points a game. They’re going to need to live up to that defensive billing as Arkansas comes into the game averaging 77 points a game and is a top 10 team in terms of getting to the free throw line. The Razorbacks average almost 23 free throws a game and make about 17 of them.

Arkansas doesn’t shoot the ball particularly well from deep, but one guy who can get hot is Stanley Umude so he will surely be a focus of the LSU perimeter defense. Of course, JD Notae does just about everything else for these Razorbacks. He’s the leading scorer, assist man, and leads the team in steals to boot. If LSU can find a way to limit him and force Umude or Au’Diese Toney to step up and create shots, it should be a good night for the Tigers.

Part of LSU’s efficiency on defense comes from limiting the volume of shots teams taken by the opponents. They give up less than 21 made field goals and they force 18 turnovers, which is a top-20 number in the country. 11 of those are steals, which is the most in the country and that means plenty of fastbreak opportunities for LSU as well.
