The return of Kawhi Leonard to the San Antonio Spurs is getting closer, as Monday evening, the team announced Leonard has been upgraded to probable to play in Tuesday’s game at Dallas.

Sidelined with right quadriceps tendinopathy since the preseason, Leonard has missed all 27 of the Spurs’ games to begin the regular season. San Antonio has managed to still win games despite Leonard’s absence, as they currently hold the third best record in the Western Conference at 19-8.

While the Spurs have still been able to put together a top-5 defense (4th, 101.1 Points Per 100 Possessions), Leonard will not only help them get even better on that end of the floor, but also on the offensive end. The Spurs currently rank 13th offensively, scoring 105.5 PP/100.

The team also announced Danny Green is listed as probable to play Tuesday after he suffered tightness in his left groin in the Spurs’ Friday win against the Boston Celtics. Green missed Saturday’s game at Phoenix with the injury.

The only Spur who will for sure be out Tuesday is Kyle Anderson, as he’s recovering from a left MCL sprain.

Dallas is expected to be without rookie Dennis Smith Jr. and Seth Curry.
