Lebron downplayed game vs. Spurs

It was a disappointing loss when the San Antonio Spurs fell to the extremely short handed Miami Heat from a Chris Bosh game winner.

The Spurs and their fans felt disappointment with their unmotivated play and careless mistakes. They were slow to the ball and just played like they had the game won from the start.

The Miami Heat, however, had a different mindset coming into the game before tip off. In fact, LeBron James (who probably thought he would've been suiting up for the game) explains what the team was thinking about that game in San Antonio.

“It’s always good to play the best,” James said. “The game Sunday doesn’t define our season or how we go from there. We just want to move forward and continue to get better.” (HAARETZ.com)

This would explain the Heat's loose demeanor during the game and their intensity like they had nothing to lose. It wasn't viewed as much of an important mission to beat the Spurs on their home court, but the Spurs mindset is what ultimately cost them the victory by letting the Heat stay in a game they probably shouldn't have won.

What do you think Spurs fans? Do you believe LeBron that the game didn't define their season and it wasn't too important for them?
