The Austin Spurs picked up another All-Star on Monday as center Cady Lalanne was selected to replace Orlando Johnson on the Developmental League’s Western Conference roster.

The 6-foot-9 Lalanne, who we featured recently, has been performing at a high level all season averaging 12.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 26.3 minutes of action.

But over the last two weeks, Lalanne has elevated his game into another stratosphere with four double-doubles in his last six games. His averages over his last few contests are 17.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in a shade over 29 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, a quick update on the man who he’s replacing in the D-League All-Star Game. As we reported on Friday, Johnson was picked up by the Phoenix Suns on a 10-day contract, joining former Austin Spurs assistant coach Earl Watson in the valley of the sun. Johnson’s Gatorade Call-Up is the 16th of the season and makes him ineligible to take place in the D-League event.

Johnson has only appeared in one game so far, but managed to impress in his short action on the court. Johnson put up seven points, one steal and one rebound in 19 minutes off the bench as Phoenix lost to the Utah Jazz, 98-89, last Saturday night.

You can catch Lalanne and the rest of the D-League All-Stars this coming Saturday, February 13th. Tipoff is at 2PM EST from Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto and will be broadcast live on NBA TV.
