Lakers’ Bryant to sit out tomorrow’s game vs. Spurs

Tomorrow night the San Antonio Spurs will play game two of their back-to-back-to-back set of games as they face the Los Angeles Lakers in Los Angeles and like the last time these two teams met, Lakers’ Kobe Bryant will not be on the court.

According to Kevin Ding of the ocregister.com, Bryant will sit out tomorrow night’s game versus the Spurs despite feeling much better after sustaining a shin injury which has kept him out of action.

Kobe got some shots up today — pain-free — for 1st time since sitting out. Running and jumping next. But he won’t play vs. Spurs tomorrow.

Although this will help the Spurs, but for Spurs fans, they know this won’t matter.

The last time the Spurs and Lakers met, Los Angeles manhandled the Spurs led by Andrew Bynum’s monster game (16 points, 30 rebounds). In that game, Bynum and Pau Gasol exposed the Spurs lack of size which could be what ultimately derails the Spurs in the playoffs should the Spurs face Lakers or Grizzles.

The Spurs will be looking for a measure of revenge tomorrow but expect Lakers head coach Mike Brown to keep punishing the Spurs in the paint with Bynum and Gasol. And if either of those two Lakers’ bigs get going, it could be another long night for San Antonio.
