Kawhi Leonard signs two-year commercial deal with H-E-B

Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are very, very good at winning basketball games. They are not particularly good at acting, though it may be because San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich doesn't spend sufficient time addressing this very important subject.

So what do these H-E-B commercials need? A deadpan small forward whose smiled fewer times than Data, the percipient android second officer from Star Trek Next Generation? Well, sure, okay.

Via mySA:

"Before the Spurs headed home from the NBA Finals in Miami on Friday, forward Kawhi Leonard signed a two-year contract to star in a series of commercial spots for H-E-B with the Big 3: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Paker."

It's anyone's guess, but Leonard's absence of human emotion does open up several intriguing commercial possibilities.

Just for starters: Can he play tennis, using his hands instead of a racket? Is he a robot? Why is he shooting eye lasers at Parker? Oh my, please stop, Kawhi. No, not the … Fruit punch.

That'll be a lotta fun, won't it?

Take a look at a couple of commercials starring the "Big 3" and then picture how Kawhi will fit in.
