Jerry West eyes Spurs as possible roadblock in Heat’s winning streak

Whether you like the Heat or not, you cannot push aside their remarkable 24-game winning streak. They look like a juggernaut and look like they are going to be there  to defend their NBA title.

After the huge comeback to defeat the Cavaliers, Miami's schedule looks like it will allow them to possibly extend their winning streak to 29 when they come to San Antonio to face the Spurs next week.

Up next for Miami is Detroit, Charlotte, Orlando, Chicago, and New Orleans before they visit the Spurs. After looking at Miami's upcoming schedule, it is not out of the realm of possibility Miami could still be riding their winning streak entering the game versus San Antonio.

Lakers' great Jerry West has been impressed with the Heat's stellar winning streak, enough to have him admit Miami could break his former team's 33-game winning streak. However, when he took a look ahead at Miami's schedule, he sees the Spurs as possibly the one team to halt the Heat's winning streak.

"It may not end. That's why I think it's so remarkable," West said. "I look at the schedule and I see one team on there that's a terrific team, and obviously that's the (San Antonio) Spurs."

Coming from "The Logo," no pressure right?

If the Heat do enter the game against the Spurs next week still riding their insane winning streak, the Spurs have to be the team that can snap their winning streak.

When the Spurs and Heat met earlier in the season, it was the infamous "Restgate" game where San Antonio's bench almost pulled off the upset win in Miami. But that was then and this is now.

If anything, the Spurs will be Miami's greatest test. They haven't faced a battle-tested, championship caliber team in their winning streak. Not only that, a team that is disciplined, and can execute.

In the end, Miami's streak may be over by next week's clash in the Alamo City but if Miami is still riding high, we could be getting a glimpse of what might be one epic 2013 NBA Finals.

What do you think Spurs fans? If the Heat are still on their wining streak, can the Spurs snap it?
