It’s quite apparent the San Antonio are looking at available small forwards since word of the NBA lockout was all but over.
From Caron Butler, Vince Carter, Josh Howard to Maurice Evans, the Spurs are doing their due diligence and it might also signal the end of Richard Jefferson’s run in San Antonio.
And as many fans tuned to NBA TV’s unveiling of the 2011-2012 NBA schedule last night, Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears spoke on the Spurs, their schedule and during the broadcast, he mentioned San Antonio has free agent small forward Tayshaun Prince on their short list (skip to 4:45 point in video below).

Last season, in 78 games for the Pistons, Prince averaged 14.1 points, 2.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 70% from the free-throw line, 34% from the three-point line, 47% from the field in 32.8 minutes.
Adding Prince would be a typical Spurs move. He is a savy veteran player, who will know exactly what his role would be for San Antonio which is exactly what head coach Gregg Popovich looks for in a player. Not to mention he is a solid defender and would like to win another title.
And although Prince may have logged lots of miles in his 9-year NBA career with the Pistons, his price tag would be relatively inexpensive considering the Spurs current financial situation and would fit in with the Spurs quite nicely.
