What to watch in Loveland Regional Final- Minnesota Duluth vs Denver

No. (1) Denver Pioneers face off against No. (2) Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs after a resilient 3-2 vicory over the UMass Lowell River Hawks. Pioneers Cameron Wright scored the game-winning goal late in the third period, joining his team’s fellow scorers Brett Stapley and Carter Savoie.

This hard-fought victory sets the stage as the Pioneers are one win away from returning to the Frozen Four for the first time since their heartbreaking double-overtime 4-3 loss to UMass in the national semi-finals in 2019. As the Pioneers look to their next opponent the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs Cameron Wright said “We owe them” referring to the five previous times the two teams have met this season with the Bulldogs besting them in three of the five meetings.

The Bulldogs are fresh off another shutout game vs Michigan Tech Huskies 3-0. This marks the third consecutive shutout game for junior goaltender Ryan Fanti with 28 saves total bringing his shutout streak 207 minutes, 17 seconds. Kobe Roth had two goals one in the first period and another in the third period. Kyler Kleven also scored a goal in the third period.
