The Charlotte Hornets recalled forward Jeffery Taylor last Friday, after a short two week stint with the Austin Spurs.

Taylor, who was assigned to Austin pursuant to the flexible assignment rule, played all of four games with the Spurs, averaging 11.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 26.2 minutes per game. The third year forward out of Vanderbilt used his time in the D-League as a tune up for the season, having only appeared in three games for the Hornets all year, after serving a 24-game suspension for his involvement in a domestic violence case back in September of 2014.

On January 3rd, Taylor put up his best performance as a Spur with 23 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in the Spurs thrilling win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 134-126. Taylor shot 54% from the field, 50% from beyond the arch and 80% from the free throw line in the game. He finished his D-League stint with a 33/31/75 shooting split, and a +/- of -15 in his four contests combined.

Taylor returned to action for the Hornets last Saturday, putting up two points, three rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes of action versus the New York Knicks. The Hornets (15-24) routed the Knicks, 110-82, and are only 1.5 games out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
