Grizzlies’ Randolph talks about beating Spurs

It was a painful sight to see if you are a San Antonio Spurs fan. Tim Duncan and the Spurs walking off the court at FedEx Forum as the Memphis Grizzlies celebrate beating the West’s top seed.

Now that the Grizzlies have moved on and continue to stun the NBA world after their Game 1 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis’ Zach Randolph reflected on his team and their series win over San Antonio:

On beating the Spurs:

“I’m feeling OK. We had a quick turnaround so guys, we had to get focused. We had to get our focus right back for this series against the Thunder.”

On getting focused after the series win over San Antonio:

“We knew what we had to do. We had to come back down. We celebrated, of course, winning for the franchise, first series in history. But we understood that we had a game on Sunday no matter what and we had to get ready and prepared.”

Tough to read as a Spurs fan. However, Memphis was the better team in this series and as much as it hurts to see the Spurs season come crashing down, we still got to be good sports and wish Memphis the best of luck.

Now, go Thunder!
