The annual D-League Showcase started yesterday, hosted by the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Although the Austin Spurs came up short, losing 87-102 to the Grand Rapids Drive, forward/center JaMychal Green made the most of the day one.
With four teams reported to be interested in his services, Green fared well matching up against top prospect Willie Reed.
Green, the only 20+ point scorer for both teams finished the game with 22 points and 15 rebounds.
For his efforts on Day 1, Green was named one of the D-League’s Top Performers of Day 1 and was moved up to number four on the prospect watch.
With the Knicks, Spurs and Bulls all watching, with 10-day contracts, in tow, it’ll be interesting to see what Green does today.
Since the Spurs lost, they’ll play on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CST against the Canton Charge.
