Giving Thanks…

With today being Thanksgiving in the United States, we decided to give our team the day off. Since it is Turkey Day, we are listing the ways we are thankful, with a Spurs twist, in lieu of some of the latest Spurs new and features.

Michael De Leon

Today I’m giving thanks to Tim Duncan’s punisher knee brace for supporting Tim during an All-Star caliber year as of yet. I’m also thankful for Danny Green’s quick release. While he was left open to knock down threes early last season, teams have done their homework, and Danny did some of his own working on a quicker release, which he displayed when he shot a game-winner over Kobe Bryant recently

Jeff Garcia

I am thankful for Tiago Splitter's play because seeing Trevor and Humbie debate about him is hilarious.

Kyle Boenitz

I'm thankful for the coaching style of Gregg Popovich. As a non-Spurs fan, I don't get the same enjoyment watching the Spurs win as mush as most of you who are reading this probably do. It's also more than just his hilarious one-liner responses to reporter questions, I have to respect the guy as one of the greatest of all time. He's a true legend and an enjoyment to watch.

Humbie Cervera

First, I'm thankful for Tiago Splitter. Without him I wouldn't be able to see a frosted floppy haired NBA player or busted defensive rotations on a regular basis. It's like he learned how to play basketball from the Keystone Cops.

I'm also thankful for Tim Duncan. Who else in the NBA could give a random creepy fan the one finger salute and no one care? That's why he's my favorite.

Jose Grijalva

I'm thankful the Spurs wing players have stepped it up on perimeter defense this year and relied less on help from our bigs. It's improved our overall defense by a lot.

While we took a lighter approach to the reasons we are giving thanks at Thanksgiving this year, as a team, Project Spurs is thankful of so much. We thank our readers and listeners of the Spurscast for sticking with us for eight years now. We thank you for allowing us to write for you and be one way in which we keep you informed on the team we all love most.

Thanks also go out to Bob Gambert and the great team at News 4 WOAI with whom the Spurs Roundtable would not be possible. Thanks to our fellow Spurs media and NBA bloggers who have been supportive and who we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the years.

I could go on and on here, but I know you’re eyeing that second helping of stuffing and a week’s worth of desserts waiting for you so I’ll close by speaking for myself and on behalf of Jeff Garcia and Paul Garcia in saying that we are very appreciative of the great staff of dedicated writers we have here at Project Spurs.

Happy Thanksgiving!
