Manu Ginobili has struggled this season with injuries and is currently sitting out because of one.

He gave San Antonio Spurs fans an update on the condition of is injured hamstring in a column for Argentinian site Canchallena.com including stating he will do everything possible to be back for the playoffs.

The injury was in a location similar to the previous one, the ischio-tibial, but this time in the right leg. I am beginning to jog, following each step as it is, but I had an ultrasound and the tear is there, so what I can do is limited.

Ginobili is reportedly still targeting a return before the playoffs and it was revealed that he'll be out four weeks from the time of his injury. This has been a huge blow for the Spurs and their bench, who have depended on Ginobili's contributions and intangibles this season to balance them out.

He also addressed his offseason situation where he'll be a free agent and the impact this injury may have.

I'm not saying to have desire to retire, because it is not something serious. But one does not know how one will return (this injury).

Ginobili has already been on a steady decline with his speed and explosiveness on the court and this news will not make any Spurs fan easy with him targeting a postseason return. The Spurs and Manu have a close relationship, but this injury may change Manu's plans for playing the next two years as he stated and will also effect the asking price he'll be asking San Antonio.

Manu does have some encouraging words for his fans and the team at the end of his article.

The first five days were complicated, now I'm excited again, wanting to go back to help the team.

While Ginobili's status hasn't been encouraging so far, the fact he's ready and excited to return to the court can only excite the hopes of the Spurs improving come playoff time.
