AUSTIN – According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Orlando Magic have signed Austin Spurs forward Patricio Garino for the remainder of the season.

In 49 games this season, Garino averaged 11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals. He also shot 47 percent from the field and 43 percent from beyond the arc in his role as a starter.

Garino was a member of Orlando’s summer league team in July, averaging 12 points over three games. He was eventually picked up by the San Antonio Spurs in training camp before getting waived and making his way up to Austin.

Garino and Marcus Georges-Hunt, who was also signed today, will take over the 14th and 15th roster spots on the Magic roster. They’re expected to play for Orlando in summer league with the ability to compete for a full-time roster spot next season.
