Friars guard Ledo worked out with Spurs

Ricky LedoThe San Antonio Spurs have made the most of bringing in several draft prospects, as the NBA Draft nears, mostly of the shooting variety.

Ricky Ledo, a 6-6 guard from Providence, came through town for a workout recently, according to NBA.com.

The Spurs' scouts had their work cut out for them working out a player who didn't have an inch of college game tape or a second of playing time. With Ledo ruled academically inelegible, he was only able to practice and workout with the team.

Luckily, the one thing Ledo has on his side is a solid high school career. He was highly touted coming out of high school and got offers from several big name basketball programs.

Ledo, who played some point guard, is best with the ball in his hands, able to create offense for himself and using his ball handling to get past or dizzy up defenders on the way to finishing at the bucket or pulling up from outside.

Ledo is expected to be drafted from mid-to-late first round or early second round. While he's considered a top prospect, it's still likely a risk drafting him considering he'll likely be a project player and he is a bit of an unknown quality considering he never played college ball so there are no guarantees for the NBA.
