The French and Canadian National teams returned to exhibition play (Canada Saturday, France Sunday) over the weekend and in each of their matches, their opponent was the aggressor early on as Canada was able to make a comeback and win, while France suffered their first loss of exhibition play.
Playing their second game of the Jack Donohue International Classic on Saturday, team Canada found themselves trailing by as much as 17-points in the game before the Canadians made a strong push in the fourth quarter outscoring Jamaica 23-9 to earn the 77-72 comeback victory.
San Antonio Spurs guard Cory Joseph didn't receive much playing time even though he started the game as he finished with 0 points (0-of-2 shooting), 0 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 foul in just 11:35 minutes of play.
The French National team played their final game of the weekend against Greece in Strasbourg, France as they completed a back-to-back-to-back game sequence with a loss to the Greeks. Unlike Saturday's blow-out of Croatia, Greece was the team that came out firing from the gates as they jumped out to an early 25-19 lead and would hold the lead until the final bell where they were the victors 79-67.
Spurs guard Tony Parker finished with 2 points, while Boris Diaw scored 15 points and Nando De Colo added 10 points. Alexis Ajinca led Les Bleus with 16 points.
France will have a break until Thursday when they face Serbia in exhibition play as they prepare for the 2013 Eurobasket on September 4 in Slovenia. France is now 4-1 in exhibition play while Canada is 2-0.
