Having a Hall of Fame basketball player train your athletes for the Olympics seems like a great idea. But when that Hall of Famer is former San Antonio Spurs blonde bombshell, Dennis Rodman, you have to start questioning life itself.

According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, has asked "The Worm" to train his athletes for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

“Why North Korea? It’ll open doors,” Rodman said.

Touting his friendship with Kim and taunting President Barack Obama for not talking to him, Rodman said he will go back to North Korea for a week in December to help select local players for the game. He hopes to have stars such as former Chicago teammate Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone.

“Michael Jordan, he won’t do it, because he’s Michael Jordan,” Rodman said.

Riveting.

The 52-year-old Rodman has created quite a controversy for himself lately, because of his relationship with the North Korean leader, calling Kim a “friend for life.” If Rodman wants to be a global ambassador for the game of basketball, I’m all for it. But the political side of things screams that this is a bad idea.

Let’s just hope Rodman’s training focuses more on his areas of expertise, like rebounding and defense, instead of hair dyes and cameraman kicking.
