With the San Antonio Spurs boasting two players from Latin America – Argentina's Manu Ginobili and Brazil's Tiago Splitter – it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to find out their jerseys will be extremely popular. Especially Manu's.
However, according to a global jersey sales report from Adidas, last season Tim Duncan's jersey was a top-selling jersey in Latin America.
The Miami Heat’s LeBron James, the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose and the Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant had the top-three selling NBA jerseys around the world last season according to Adidas’ sales, the league announced as it prepares for its annual Global Games this preseason.
In Latin America: Rose, Bryant, James, Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Garnett and San Antonio Spurs’ Tim Duncan.
This is a bit of a shocker considering Ginobili is practically seen as the best-ever basketball player to come out of Bahia Blanca and Splitter being one of the few Brazilian's in the NBA.
Just goes to show you, even in Latin America, Duncan's game and professionalism is respected.
How about you Spurs fans? What is your favorite Spurs jersey to wear?
