Dexter Pittman chose Bulls over Spurs

Former Miami Heat Center Dexter Pittman had a pretty busy year so far.
On February 21, 2013, Pittman and a second round pick were traded by the Heat to the Memphis Grizzlies for the rights to Ricky Sanchez and a trade exception. His tenure as a Grizzly was cut short when he was waived just two months later in April.
At that point, Dexter came to the conclusion that he had to buckle down and work hard if he had any hope of getting back in the NBA. He then headed to Las Vegas to the highly lauded Impact basketball facility to work on both his game and his fitness.
By the time NBA Summer league rolled around, Dexter accepted an invite from the San Antonio Spurs to play on the Spurs Summer League team in Las Vegas.
The slimmed down center apparently turned some heads while on the court in Vegas with the Spurs.
Pittman told RealGM that he had garnered a few camp invites after summer league action from the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs, but he decided the best fit for him would be in Chicago.
Via RealGM:
Pittman told RealGM he had received offers from the Spurs and Atlanta Hawks after summer league, but he rejected them for a deal to head to the Chicago Bulls’ training camp.
“I was out there in Vegas training the whole time, all summer, until I came here. Me and my team talked, and it was just a sacrificing summer for me. I sacrificed.”
So now Dexter is competing for a spot on the Bulls roster, hoping to fill a spot behind Bulls centers Joakim Noah and Nazr Mohammed. And apparently he thinks he made the right choice already.
“It worked out with the Bulls better because of the style of play,” Pittman said. “As long as I keep working hard, I’m confident. The sky’s the limit.”
My opinion is that between the Spurs and Bulls, Dexter just likely surmised that he would have a better shot at a spot in Chicago. And he's probably right. The Spurs have Tim Duncan, Tiago Splitter, Aron Baynes and newly acquired Jeff Ayers. Finding time in the paint with San Antonio would have been a bit difficult.
How about it Spurs fans? What do you think about the Spurs making Dex an offer, as well as his choice of the Bulls?
