DeJuan Blair records double-double in BC Krasnye debut

Earlier this month, San Antonio Spurs’ DeJuan Blair was the first key Spurs player to make the move overseas and sign in Russia with BC Krasnye Krylya Samara due to the NBA lockout.

Blair was motivated to sign so he can play meaningful minutes and stay in shape.

With that being said, Blair recently made his debut in Russia for Krasnye in typical fashion with a double-double.

Blair recorded 23 points and 11 rebounds in a win for Krasnye.

Playing in Russia is a good thing for Blair. Sure, Spurs fans may be nervous about Blair or any other Spurs playing overseas suffering injuries but for Blair, this gives him an opportunity to keep in shape, and sharpen his skills on the court.

I’m sure seeing Blair post these numbers should put a smile on Spurs fans and the coaching staff.

And with the upcoming season still to be determined, Manu Ginobili (who has stated he will play in Italy if the lockout continues) and Tony Parker (who has stated he will play for his team ASVEL during the lockout) might be the next Spurs to play overseas.

Thoughts Spurs fans? What do you think about Blair’s debut and Ginobili and Parker possibly heading overseas during the lockout?
