Deadline Central: Tracking the Rumor Mill

With the NBA Trade Deadline approaching today at 2 p.m. CST, Project Spurs will be keeping track of, and analyzing, all the reported rumors involving the San Antonio Spurs right here. Keep checking back throughout the day as we continuously update this post.

UPDATE 2 – 2:00 p.m.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski just reported on “The Jump” that the Clippers will keep DeAndre Jordan and Avery Bradley, “Who they [Clippers] never really got far down the road on with anyone.”

If the Spurs make a move now, it will be in the buyout market. Players who get bought out must be waived before March 1st to be playoff eligible. However, for the Spurs to sign anyone they will have to release a player on their current NBA roster, excluding two-way players Darrun Hilliard and Matt Costello.

UPDATE 1 – 9:00 a.m.
As Marc Stein of the New York Times reported last night, the Spurs have expressed interest in Clippers guard Avery Bradley.

This morning Stein updated his report by tweeting that the Spurs willingness to part with a first round draft pick would likely be the deciding factor in San Antonio’s ability to acquire the former Texas guard.

Stein worded his tweet as saying, “One potential trade construction” which suggests there are other potential trades being discussed between the Clippers and Spurs, but Danny Green being the focal point is a bit of a shock considering San Antonio’s already crowded backcourt.

We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
