The San Antonio Spurs have re-assigned rookie guard Nando De Colo to their D-League affiliate Austin Toros.
This marks De Colo’s second assignment to the Toros this season. In one game for Austin on Dec. 2, the guard posted 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 39 minutes in a 97-82 win over the Idaho Stampede.De Colo has appeared in 30 games this season for the Spurs, averaging 3.9 points, 1.7 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 11.9 minutes.
De Colo has had an up-and-down stretch of games. He scored 11 points on the Nets but saw games where he scored 4 points versus the Hornets, 2 points versus the Mavs, and 3 points versus the Nuggets.
Continued time on the court to aid in his development will do wonders for Nando but could this be a sign guard Cory Joseph will be making his way back to the bench?
Cory has been tearing up the D-League including a 30 point outing in a 110-97 win over the Legends last month which became a D-League high in scoring this season. Cory's final line was 30 points, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, 8-17 from the field in 37 minutes of play.
