Dallas Cowboys’ Beasley not a fan of the Spurs

The city of San Antonio not only supports the San Antonio Spurs (the single pro team in town aside from the WNBA Silver Stars) but a majority of the population supports the Dallas Cowboys. San Antonio can safely be called a Cowboys city.

Yet despite the Cowboys having their fair share of ups-and-downs, most Spurs fans cheer on Dallas come rain or shine but Cowboys receiver Cole Beasley has a confession that might annoy Spurs fans.

Beasley admits he isn't a Spurs fan (or a fan of any Texas NBA team) but is a fan of one of the Spurs chief rivals for years – Lakers' Kobe Bryant.

But the lifelong Texan is not a Dallas Mavericks fan. Nor a follower of the Houston Rockets or San Antonio Spurs.

“I don’t not like the Mavericks,” Beasley explains, “but I am a Kobe [Bryant] fan.”

As they say, you can't win them all.

Considering the Cowboys have handed fans their share of heartache in recent years, Spurs/Cowboys fans may just chalk this up to yet another disappointment.

At least Beasley isn't a Mavs fan. That has to count for something right Spurs fans?
