LOS ANGELES – Six players scored in double figures for the Los Angeles D-Fenders, as the Lakers D-League affiliate demolished the Austin Spurs, 119-96.

Justin Harper led all scores with 24 points. Former second round pick Ivica Zubac recorded a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds. David Nwaba added 16 points in 26 minutes.

It was a quick start for the D-Fenders, as former San Antonio Spurs forward Jeff Ayers scored nine points in the first quarter, giving Los Angeles an early 32-21 lead.

The D-Fenders couldn’t miss throughout the second quarter, extending their lead to 22 by halftime on 67 percent shooting in the quarter.

Both teams struggled from the field out of the break, but Cory Jefferson would be the lone bright spot for Austin, as his seven points in the third helped keep the deficit at 22 points.

Harper would deliver the final blow for the D-Fenders, scoring 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, as Los Angeles would lead by as many as 29 points, before winning by 23.

Despite five Spurs scoring in double figures, Jefferson would be the only one to crack the 20-point mark, finishing with 22 points and five rebounds. Charles Garcia and Maurice Bolden added 12 points each off the bench, while Jarell Eddie finished with 10. Dejounte Murray, who recorded a triple-double the night before, finished with 11 points, five rebounds and seven assists in 33 minutes.

Austin has now lost five straight and is winless during their current five-game road trip. Now standing at 4-7 on the season, the road ahead gets slightly easier.

The Spurs next game will be Thursday night against the Iowa Energy (2-10). Tipoff is at 7 p.m. CST from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
