In the San Antonio Spurs’ 118-111 scrimmage win over the Indiana Pacers, rookie Keldon Johnson scored 21 points and his three assists turned into seven points for his teammates.

Johnson created 28 points in just 25 minutes of action, putting him second on the team behind only Rudy Gay (34 points in 22 minutes) for the most created points per minute.

Johnson shot 7/8 from the floor, he collected three rebounds, and had two turnovers as well.

“Keldon tonight was special with his energy,” said Spurs assistant coach Will Hardy after the game. “His defense, getting out in transition.”

When asked after the game if Johnson’s energy level surprised the coaching staff, Hardy said, “I don’t think he surprises us. That’s Keldon all day long. He’s a really energetic kid.”

“He plays hard, gives it his all,” said Rudy Gay of Johnson after the game.
