Former Providence guard Bryce Cotton has had a seamless transition into the D-League, and with a team stockpiled with talent, he has stepped into a role of a do-it-all player, sometimes looked to as a distributor, sometimes asked to take over on scoring, and consistently helping on the boards.

After last night’s high-scoring affair against the Reno Bighorns, Cotton finished with his second consecutive 30-point game. It was a hot shooting night for Cotton, who was looked to to take over some of the scoring burden with Jarell Eddie coming off the bench.

Cotton finished with 31 points, five rebounds and two assists in 138-134 win.

The game prior to that, in a win over the RGV Vipers, Cotton was asked to step up again with JaMychal Green sidelined. He finished with 32 points, three assists and two steals. He missed a total of five out of 21 shots and made all but one of his three-pointers.

On the season, Cotton is averaging 19.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. He’ll be one to watch at the D-League showcase and in the days after as several players are called up to the NBA.
